Wann Antioxidantien bei der Sauerstoff-Mehrschritt-Therapie?

Abstract: Oxygen radicals are a necessary evil. The macrophages need them e.g. agents to destroy pathogens. Large amounts of oxygen radicals damage tissue structures and initiate or promote pathological processes as atherosclerosis, cataract and inflammations.Small amounts of oxygen as indifferent or activated molecules can induce the endogenous antioxidant defenses in the sense of a self-regulating action.Antioxidants reduce aggressiveness of free radicals but may also reduce the optimal amount needed for effective response of immunsystem.The underlying biochemical processes will be discussed and guidelines suggested for antioxidant protection.
