Therapieversuch mit Copalchi-Rinde bei pathologischer Glukosetoleranz

Abstract: The effect of a Copalchi bark extract (Sucontral, Harras Pharma) on the glucose metabolism was tested in 14 patients with impaired glucose tolerance. From a therapy of eight weeks onwards, the glucose tolerance in some test persons began to normalise, without statistical significance being achieved.In earlier tests, the preparation had turned out to be free of side effects and was well tolerated. When the first symptoms of diabetes mellitus were manifestes, it was noted-as in earlier studies-that the Copalchi bark would produce its antidiabetic effect after an initial deterioration.
