[Naturopathy in geriatric rehabilitation]
Arztin für Naturheilverfahren, Gerontologin, Berlin.
In the treatment of acute disorders, the complex interactions existing among various geriatric illnesses and age-specific impaired organ functioning, demand a therapeutic outlook oriented towards essential aspects, which can, and should, however be expanded in a holistic sense during rehabilitation. In this context, classic naturopathic techniques offer methods of treatment highly suitable in particular for geriatric patients with reduced general condition, methods that are readily accepted by them and available from the areas of kinesitherapy, hydrotherapy, phytotherapy, dietetics, and the restoration of harmonic life patterns and rhythms.
