Immunaktive Eigenschaften eines therapeutisch relevanten homöopathischen Mistelextraktes

Abstract: The immunoreactive potency of a homeopathic relevant mistletoe extractwas checked in the BALB/c-mouse model. Since the indication forhomeopathic mistltoe extracts primarily covers rheumatic diseases,special emphasis was put on the modulation of the pathogeneticallyimportant lymphatic system. To investigate the optimal immunomodulatingmistletoe concentration for this indication, D4-D6 dilutions weresubcutaneously administered for 3 subsequent days followed by anotherinjection 48 h later. These studies proved that subcutaneous injectionsof D6-dilutions induced optimal modulation of the lymphatic system,since thymocyte proliferation, maturation and emigration weresignificantly enhanced in the murine model as compared to non-treatedcontrol mice. Furtheron, counts of peripheral blood lymphocytes as wellas expression of relevant activation markers on these cells revealedsignificant increases after treatment. However, peripheral bloodmonocyte counts and activation were less pronounced and statisticallynegligable after administration of D6-dilutions of the mistletoeextract.
