Verordnungsfähigkeit von Probiotika

Abstract: Prescribed probiotics, i.e. drugs containing reproductive, physiological microorganisms, will be refunded by the german public health insurance system. It is documented that the restrictions for the prescription of laxatives (§ 34, section 1 SGB V) do not affect probiotics, if their use is indicated resp. medically justified. Furthermore, it is shown that the prescription of preparations for the therapy of the gut flora, which make use of reproductive, physiological microorganisms, is not restricted in any way that according to the cur-rent drug guidelines does not apply to any other drug as well.
