Conference report: an agenda for medical rehabilitation outcomes research

Abstract: In August 1994, a conference was organized by the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, National Institutes of Health) and cosponsored by the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research to formulate recommendations for outcomes research in medical rehabilitation. Recommendations are presented in the areas of philosophical issues, strategy and design issues, measurement of disability and handicap, and measurement of quality of life and health status.
