Abstract: 168 women with hormonal or idiopathic infertility were treated with homeopathic remedies. During this treatment 47 women conceived (28%). All these women were observed for a period of at least two years following termination of homeopathic treatment. During this period 18 further pregnancies occurred: 7 were spontaneous, 6 were induced by conventional treatment, and 5 by various holistic methods. In 90 of the 103 cases of treatment failure, a continuing wish for a child was reported. The best response to homeopathy was observed for patients having anomalous basal-body-temperature charts and amenorrhea, whereas in those cases involving endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, hyperprolactinemea, or reduced sperm function the treatment failed more often. After just three months of treatment, significant changes in the peripheral concentrations of the gonadotrophins, estradiol, prolactin, and testosterone were measured. In addition to the alleviation of hormonal disturbances, an improvement in condition for various functional disorders was observed in 83% of the women.
