About the Recent History of Research on the Natural Remedy Mumia persica sive nativa

Abstract: The wide range of popular remedies applied by numerous peoples of central Asia has always included a substance called Mumio', to which legendary healing powers are attributed. This natural medicine, which can be found in the caves and clefts of Asia's high mountains, is used both internally and externally for the treatment of all types of different ailments. lt is accounted for that the application of Mumio accelerates the callus formation after fractures. This was the reason why school medicine became interested in this substance. In addition, Mumio was tested clinically and under laboratory conditions. The aim of the paper is to inform on the history of research up to the present.
