Prerequisite Problem of Complenentary Medicine

Abstract: When modern medicine is based on scientific method, it has to take into account that science and its method is based on prerequisites which have to be assumed in order to achieve the success of the method. When this method is applied to the human being, these prerequisites may become essential problems. In this paper, the "frame on thinking" of science is developed and its prerequisites are demonstrated. Three different limits for scientific knowledge are defined and distinguished. The uniqueness of the individual, which is essential when human beings are the focus of attention, cannot be accomodated within the frame of thinking of science. Therefore, the notion of health (and illness) is investigated in various different frames of thinking at the end of this paper.
