Können Milchprodukte die Darmflora regenerieren? |
Abstract: Mother's milk contains in a sufficient composition all nutrients, minerals, and vitamins that are essential for the early development of the newborn. Breast feeding also protects the suckling infant from a wide range of infections. Furthermore, mother's milk is responsible for forming a protective acidophilic microecological system within the gastrointestinal tract. Beyond infancy milk products still play an important role as being part of our basic nutrition. It is understood that wideranging therapeutic effects are caused by fermented milk products. To prove Metchnikoff's theory of anti-autointoxication by ingestion of microorganisms with fermented milk products many investigations have been performed and published revealing contradictory results. Most of the microorganisms supplied to the gut proved to be transient and thus do not colonize the human intestine. Only strains which are regular members of the indigenous microflora are able to settle. These microorganisms have to be administered in high quantities and, in addition, need specific milieu conditions within the bowel to keep up their metabolism.
