Immunaktive Eigenschaften eines therapeutisch relevanten homöopathischen Mistelextraktes

Abstract: The immunoactive potency of a homeopathic relevant mistletoe extract was checked in the BALB/c-mouse model. Since the indication for homeopathic mistletoe extracts primarily covers rheumatic diseases, special emphasis was put on the modulation of the pathogenetically important lymphatic system. To investigate the optimal immunomodulating mistletoe concentration for this indication, D4-D6 dilutions were subcutaneously administered for 3 subsequent days followed by another injection 48 h later. These studies proved that subcutaneous injections of D6-dilutions induced optimal modulation of the lymphatic system, since thymocyte proliferation, maturation and emigration were significantly enhanced in this murine model as compared to non-treated control mice. Furtheron, counts of peripheral blood lymphocytes as well as expression of relevant activation markers on these cells revealed significant increases after treatment. However, peripheral blood monocyte counts and activation were less pronounced and statistically negligible after administration of D6-dilutions of the mistletoe extract. For future therapeutical treatment strategies in rheumatic disease, D6-dilutions of mistletoe extract may be supposed to be optimal.
