Abstract: Discusses the idea of a unitary and structured arts therapy (AT) system that integrates music, dance, drama, art, and poetry therapy. Several models are presented that reflect the placement of AT within a contemporary epistemology that conveys the integration of specific and general aspects of AT. Current standards for AT and its regulation in Italy are discussed.
