Abstract: Object: The aim of this second part of the study was to compare blood pressure and pulse frequency values in rest, in physical activity and in the recovery period thereafter during a three weeks' balneotherapy with sulphur-thermal water and carbondioxide water.Subject: 10 male hypertensive had cures of treatment in Baden and Bad Tatzmannsdorf with an interval of two years.Design: All patients took a bath every morning in the heating water. Two ergometric tests were performed every week. In the time after the stays the ergometric tests were repeated in intervals of 1 1/Z months. Results: During the spa therapy in Baden no relevant changes of the investigated parameters could be found but in the time after the stay an increase of all values was noted. In Bad Tatzmannsdorf all values but the heart rate during physical activity decreased. Statistically significant differences in both health resorts could be detected. Conclusions: Longer lasting effects an blood pressure levels appear especially after repeating the cures every year. The evaluation of the results of both studies makes the conclusion plausible that antihypertensive effects depend only to a lesser degree an the kind of the treatment but are rather connected with the blood pressure values at the beginning of the stay.
