Neue Perspektiven einer Therapie des Altersstars mit Mineralstoffen

Abstract: With increasing age of man an impairment of glucose tolerance develops. This leads to a measurable reduction of the degree of activity of enzymatic reactions of the carbohydrate metabolism in the human lens. Zinc metalloenzymes are the key enzymes of the carbohydrate metabolism. Chrome has been demonstrated to be an integral component of the glucose tolerance factor. In the case of three elderly subjects suffering from a senile cataract it was possible to achieve an impressive improvement of a reduced visual power, which was present for several years, with a supplementation of chrome and zinc.
