Abstract: Laser-Doppler spectroscopy (LDS) is a method to determine changes in tissue perfusion. The standard of measurement is an approximate parameter of flow including both number and velocity of erythrocytes.Information from tissue layers is highly dependent an experimental parameters, with the wavelength of laser light, the coherence properties of the laser diode and the geometry of the detection setup having great influence. To determine the effect of therapeutic Ultrasound an tissue perfusion, the measuring data of a commercial Doppler device (Perimed) were compared to those of a measurement setup of laser-Doppler spectroscopy optimised for this problem. Test persons were submitted to first studies with a density of ultrasonic efficiency of 1.0 W/cm2 and an application of 5 minutes. The data obtained show a significant influence of Ultrasound in tissue perfusion.
