Die Schroth-Kur

Abstract: Schroth's treatment(dry diet) is named after its initiator Johann Schroth (born in 1798 in Böhmischdorf, Austria/ Silesia) and is based on three principles: Schroth's hot pack, Schroth's diet and alternation fo "drink" and "dry" days in a given rhythm. The loss of protein is not a cause for concern due to the limited duration of the treatment (3 wks, 4 wks at most). The transaminase levels react similarily to other fasting treatments in spite of the moderate amounts of wine in the diet. Cholesterol and trigyceride levels drop sinigicantly. Liquids intake during treatment is adjusted in accordance with the findings from the initial examination.
