Die Sauerstoff-Mehrschritt-Therapie als unverzichtbare Rahmenbehandlung zur systemischen Krebs-Mehrschritt-Therapie (sKMT) sowie der gegenwärtige Stand der sKMT

Abstract: Up to now over 480 conventionally pretreated cancer patients, who remain however in progredience, have been treated at a vitally dangerous complication rate of 0.8% and with considerable success with sCMT at the institute's clinic. The main steps of sCMT are a 42o C whole-body hyperthermia (up to appr. 90 min.; infrared IRATHERM® 2000 equipment), induced hyperglycemia (up to appr. 28 mmol/l) and relative hyperoxemia. Hyperglycemia, strengthened by hyperthermia, causes a selective over-acidification of the cancer tissue (up to nearly pH = 6), by which thermosensitisation of the cancer cells increases at about 1.5'C and its radiosensitisation nearly doubles. The selective inhibition of microcirculation in the cancer tissue, caused by both steps, is at the center of the proceeding effect mechanisms. Above all, the relative hyperoxemia (high oxygen doses during the procedure) and the induced hyperglycemia guarantee the tolerance of an extreme whole-body hypertherrnia. It is however required that patients, weakened by their previous conventional therapies and their disease undergo a conditioning by means of Oxygen Multistep Therapy and/or Oxygen immunostimulation as well as appropriate post-treatment therapy involing these procedures.
