Abstract: The current concepts about pathogenesis and diagnosis of connective tissue disorders, systemic scleroderma, systemic lupus erythematosus, and dermatomyositis, are reviewed. Therapeutic approaches are discussed. Physical therapy is of particular importance in the phase-related treatment of connective tissue disorders and is discussed under the aspect of pathogenetic concepts.
