[The image of Man and his care in the hygiene-dietetic tratises of the XVII and XVIII centuries]

This work presents a study of the traditional hygienc-dietetic treatises of the XVII and XVIII centuries. Two characteristics define these treatises: the following of Aristotelian and Galenic postulates in their theoretical conception and, in the practical section, the preponderance of the care of the soul in relation to that of the body. This work firstly cover their theoretical foundation (the vision of Man derived from their conception of the body, their notion of the soul and the dynamic relationship established between both); and, secondly, the practical application derived from these concepts (the care of Man on both his planes; the corporal and the psychic).
