Esther and Arthur Mork: a "chiropractic love story."

Drs. Esther and Arthur Mork were arrested in Wisconsin for practicing chiropractic without a license. At that time, Wisconsin had a medically-controlled basic science examination that was required before chiropractors could sit for their own licensing board. Their case was to be a test case for basic science examinations. Although the appeal was dropped and the Morks paid the fine, the story of their introduction into chiropractic, Esther's experiences at Palmer and their battle with the medical profession serves as a case study of chiropractic's experiences with the basic science boards in the thirties and forties.
