An interactive therapy group |
Journal/Book: Child Language Teaching & Therapy. 1993; 9: 133-40.
Abstract: The paper describes the formation of an interactive therapy group in an inner-city infant school in Leicester, aimed at helping withdrawn or selectively mute children. Ideas and techniques were drawn from speech, music, movement, and drama therapy. There was a noticeable improvement in the children's ability to interact with their peers in the classroom situation. The development of two individual children is briefly reviewed, and reasons for their progress discussed. (3 ref)
