An evaluation of the National Association for Music Therapy undergraduate academic curriculum: II

Abstract: This comprehensive assessment of the National Association for Music Therapy undergraduate curriculum consists of 2 parts. The 1st part was published previously and identified a hierarchy of 85 Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) which would constitute an ideal curriculum according to the opinion of professional music therapists surveyed (G. E. Petrie, 1989). Part 2 is presented here with a threefold purpose: (1) to compare current and ideal curriculum emphasis; (2) to compare perceptual differences among educators, clinical training supervisors, and clinical music therapists; and (3) to identify suggested ILOs for the internship phase of the undergraduate curriculum.
