Abstract: Three aspects of the group experience are defined: psychoanalytic work in groups, the experience of musical improvisation in groups as it appears in different cultures, and active group music therapy in its French and foreign applications. Group analysis concerns the musical tendencies of the group, the successive structural phases of this sensory material, and their musical and verbal elaboration.
