Privy Councilor Dr. med. Robert Flechsig (1817-1892) - a Saxon balneologist in the second half of the last century

Abstract: Robert Flechsig (1817-1892) was the first bathing and spring physician in the Royal Saxon State Bath Elster. During his activities for Bad Elster from 1847 to 1892 he made great contributions to its development. Over and above that he was an author of balneological books, especially of the "Bäder-Lexikon" (1883/1889) and of the "Handbuch der Balneotherapie" (1888/1892). Flechsig wrote reviews of balneology for "Schmidt's Jahrbücher der in- und ausländischen gesammten Medicin" from 1855 to 1892.
