In the fields of obstetrics and gynecology especially acupuncture becomes more and more important. lt can be ideally used in the field of obstetrics, where the mother as well as the child have to be treated. lt can be used successfully for the obstetrical relaxation and with cervical dyslocia, with a delayed detachment of the placenta, with subinvolution of the uterus, post-partum pains, pains of the episiotomy and hemorrhoidal complaints, in the case of the stimulation of lactation and the inhibition of lactation. With the help of moxibustion it is possible to make a tuming from breech presentation to vertex presentation easier. During pregnancy, indications like hyperemesis, imminent abortion, smoker's detoxification, heartburn, lacome syndrome and urinary retention, in the field of gynecology, indications like weight reduction before gynecological surgery, postoperative attacks of pain and postoperative or post partum disturbed micturition, distended abdomen and the post pelviscopy syndrome can be well treated with acupuncture. But also the complex complaints of the climacteric period and the postmenopause, migraine and dysmenorrhea can be influenced successfully.
