Hoxton Health Group : a central resource for complementary healthcare

Abstract: Hoxton Health Group is a provider of complementary therapies to an inner city area of East London. Established in 1987 under the Inner City Partnership scheme, it brings together acupuncture, chiropractic, herbal medicine, osteopathy, massage and shiatsu. The Group has successfully developed both inter-disciplinary collaboration and direct management by users. Still dependent on grants and charitable funding, Hoxton Health has developed close links with local health services and also has a commitment to evaluation and research on the outcome of the therapies it offers.
