Drosera - Sundew

Abstract: Extracts from sundew (Drosera rotundifolia L., Drosera racementaceae Burch. ex. Harv. et Sond. and other species (Droseraceae) have been used for a long time as remedies against irritant cough and as an adjuvant against whooping cough. Its therapeutical value depends on its cough-releasing and spasmolytic effects. The great importance of sundew herb in phytotherapy besides its use as an antitussivum is related to the good compatibility of Drosera-preparations.
