Gastritis - ein mikrobiologisches Problem?- Versuch der Eradikation von Helicobacter pylori durch die KombinationstherapieOmeprazol mit E. coli Stamm NISSLE 1917 - |
Abstract: lt is known since the rediscovery of Helicobacter pylori by Marshall and Warren in 1983 that more than 85 % of all gastritis diseases are due to infection by this microorganism. The hypothesis that anacidity in combination with a controlled colonization of the gastric mucosa with microorganisms may lead to an eradication or an elimination of Helicobacter pylori, is supported by the fact that different bacteria (e.g. E. coli strain NISSLE 1917, Lactobacillus acidophilus) in vitro inhibit the growth of H. pylori. Therefore, a combination of Omeprazol and E. coli strain NISSLE 1917 was applied to 51 patients with Helicobacter-associated gastrointestinal disease for 14 days. The well-tolerated combination therapy achieved a suppression of H. pylori in 100%, an elemination in 66%, and a long lasting eradication in 38% of the patients.
