Setting standards for acupuncture Training - a model for complementary medicine

Abstract: As a voluntary exercise in setting clear standards of training in the public interest the professions and colleges of acupuncture have together set up an independent accrediting council, the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB). This article explains why and how the BAAB was created, discusses its purposes, structure and methods, and explains its political and educational significance for complementary medicine as a whole.
