Abstract: The nutrition and, thus, also the food quality is often seen under the aspect of the health compatibility paying little attention to the aspects of environmental and so-cial compatibility of the nutrition. All three aspects are simultaneously considered in the nutrition ecology. Nutrition ecology, an interdisciplinary science, comprises the interactions of the nutrition with the individual human being, the environment and the society. The concern of the nutrition ecology is to develop realizable, to the future directed con-cepts of nutrition characterized by high compatibility as to health, environment and society. The analysis of product lines is a concept to translate criteria for quality with re-spect to nutrition ecology into practice.
