Music therapy clinical internship training in Canada: Profile and perspectives |
Journal/Book: Music Therapy Perspectives. 1992; 10: 99-104.
Abstract: Provides a general profile of music therapy clinical training in Canada, developed from a survey of 55 members of the Canadian Association for Music Therapy. Included in this profile is a discussion of features of Canadian sites that offer internship training as well as a description of supervision and evaluation provided for interns. Data are compared with research on music therapy in other countries and with internship information from the National Association for Music Therapy and the American Association for Music Therapy. Comparisons reveal a wide range of training opportunities with respect to types of treatment settings, types and ages of client populations served, clinical orientations, and intern supervision/evaluation practices.
