Abstract: Describes the use of projective techniques to assist in the process of music therapy and to assess the growth and development of clients. A case study of an uncommunicative and withdrawn 17-yr-old Finnish male adolescent is described. The S had symbols and thoughts in his mind which he could not express verbally but came in contact with during the music therapy sessions. He was then able to use drawings to reflect his life symbolically.
