The affect in music therapy. TITLE, ORIGINAL: L'affect en musicothérapie. |
Journal/Book: Revue de musicothérapie, France. 1992; XII: 44-56.
Abstract: Discusses the codification of the effects of music, already found in Plato who advocated using music for educating the citizen; the analogy between type of music and affect; and the existence of a primary level and a secondary level of affect. The example of polyphonic music appears particularly interesting since there are many voices often using different rhythms and words, but they form a coherent whole. Similar to this are the different and complex affects which are juxtaposed in a person's emotional make-up. (author)
