The Use of Rhythm in Music Therapy Practice |
Abstract: Why does rhythm provide a motivating sound framework for many types of intervention with many differing client groups? This paper will overview work done on the nature of rhythm and relate that to musical approaches possible in music therapy practice. The presentation will include reference to personal research on the effect of music therapy on motor control of cerebral palsied children, done as part of a recent Master of Philosophy (Education) qualification.
