Musikkterapi ved klassemiljøutvikling

Abstract: In this article experiences from music therapy work in a 4 th class in a Norwgian rural school will be presented. This music therapist^s focus was in the classroom climate. The music therapy intervestion are based on general music therapy compined with elements from group psychology and organization development. The findings show that pupils behavior and interpersonal patterns changed during the course of music therapy. From being a class in conflict it became more cohesive. The class responded faviourablyl to the music therapy interventions. They gathered around the tasks of musical interplay. A main task was, through the music, to offer the pupils new ways of responding, in a classroom climate that previously was antagonistic. Music therapy seems to be an adequate way of working with classroom climate, being able to accelerate group prosesses, cooperation and communication.
