Analysis of needs for examinations and measurements to improve and develop health resort therapy

Abstract: A research needs analysis is presented that identified important studies and methods to improve and evaluate treatment in health resorts provided by the German General Health Insurance. The analysis looked at the needs for treatment, diagnosis and treatment control by the resident medical doctors, treatment effects and progress as well as at care for patients after returning to their homes. The results demonstrated that more research is especially required in areas such as criteria for treatment needs, guidelines for diagnosis and treatment control, long-term treatment effects and specific treatment approaches.
