Abstract: The most important methodological aspects to be observed in the planning, Performance, evaluation, and documentation of a controlled clinical trial are presented. The present paper deals with the aspects of formal correctness of a study, while the validity, the quality of publication, and the meta-aspects were discussed in a previous paper [A]. Particular consideration is paid to the special requirements of studies in the fields of homoeopathy and naturopathy. The fast part of this paper deals with fundamentals such as planning, organisation, study design, as well as the appropriate selection and definition of the therapy and of the target variables.
