Abstract: Rehabilitation has predominantly been under-stood under the aspect of returning to the Pro-fessional life. With the inclusion of the health in-surance (1974) especially the geriatric rehabili-tation is since 1989 a growing demand under the catchword "rehabilitation above care". At pre-sent 90% of the people who need care are still taken care of in the family. The demographic de-velopment lets expect a distinct change. There-fore, it is indispensable to offer rehabilitation as in-patients and an the residential level in order to ensure an acceptable life-quality.
