Das Phänomen Bulimie- Entwicklungsgeschichte, Psychodynamik, Therapie - |
Abstract: Nearly every fifth woman suffers from disturbed nutrition habits, a disease which is characterized by addiction and obsession, which spreads epidemically but which has already been known in old Egypt. The basis of bulimia is not a homogenous psychostructural genesis. The most important characteristic is the conflictive structure of relationship with the early, motherly object. From the psychodynamic point of view it can be compared with the dynamic of the life story of Snow White and the bad mother, the story of a deadly rivalry and of unappeasable desires. Psychodynamic and analytic procedures combined with self-help groups are practical from a therapeutical point of view. During tedious learning processes, the patients must try to develop a „normal" eating habit, an own rhythm between hunger and eating, they have to try to discover the time which is necessary to digest in order to become free, self-confident and able to make decisions and thus become a "satiated" person suffering from bulimia.
