Fasten und Allergien

Abstract: Buchinger's fasting cure is an important basis for the treatment of allergic diseases. For the physicians the intestine is the center of the process. In the intestine there are always immunization procedures by pathogens and by allergens in the food and preservatives which has been taken up. The normally functioning intestine forms an immunological mucosal barrier with secretory immunoglobulins. No matter how one imagines the mechanism of the transfer of allergic symptoms in the body - by the fasting cure a source for the allergisation is eliminated temporarily. Normally it is not possible to cure allergic diseases by fasting once. The fasting cure has to be a part of a holistic therapy, which comprises change of nutrition, psychotherapeutic intervention and other suitable methods of empiric therapeutics. Some interesting casuistics are described.
