Abstract: Also in the sciences the reality can be described by models only, i.e. approximately. For setting up a model two different methods can be applied: the mathematical-abstract method and the descriptive-concrete method. The mathematical method makes use of quantitative parameters exclusively, whereas the descriptive method mainly makes use of non-quantitative parameters.All living structures can be characterized by qualitative parameters more completely than by quantitative ones. This is true for diseases as part of living beings as well. For this reason, the descriptive model of diseases as utilized in the Natural Medicine describes the individual clinical pictures more accurately than the model of diseases in the orthodox School Medicine" which is largely based on measurable parameters.
