Naturheilverfahren und Psychosomatik in der neuropsychiatrischen Praxis - ein effektives Praxis- und Ausbildungsmodell |
Journal/Book: Ärztezeitschrift für Naturheilverfahren. 1992; 33/9: 679-696.
Abstract: A medical practice for neurology, psychiatry and psychotherapy is presented that functions an the basis of the (German) health service system. The physician in charge has decided to integrate naturopathic methods into his everyday practice. This concept turns out to be particularly advantageous for employees and patients as well as from the point of view of the health service. The employees are encouraged to take an active part in designing this naturopathic neurological-psychiatric practice and patients are pleased with the special therapeutic features it offers. Health service insurers see this model as economical and patient-oriented.An attempt is made to include this medical practice concept in a training programme for medical assistants; however, it proves difficult to acquire a training permit for naturopathic methods as an area physician for neurology and psychiatry. This occasions the physician in charge of the practice to write a basic description of the history, contents and perspectives of naturopathic methods in health service practice. Seen in relation to the concrete possibilities of this particular practice, these basic considerations form the basis of the physician's objection as submitted to the responsible medical council against nonissuance of a training permit for naturopathic methods. Following detailed discussion, the medical council agrees to issue the permit for training in "naturopathic methods" in the physician's practice.
