Wirkung von Spezialextrakt LI 1370 auf das EEG älterer Patienten im Schlafentzugsmodell

Schulz AFB-Klinische Pharmakologie GmbH Berlin Zusammenfassung In einer randomisierten doppelblind durchgeführten Prüfung mit Ginkgo-biloba-Spezialextrakt an 16 Probanden mit den Zeichen einer zerebralen Insuffizienz sollten die pharmakologischen Effekte auf die Vigilanz geprüft werden. Methodisch wurde ein Schlafentzugsmodell eingesetzt bei dem mit Hilfe einer speziellen EEG-Mapping-Methode die topographischen Aspekte der EEG-Leistung veranschaulicht werden konnten. Nach insgesamt achtwöchiger Therapie nahm die Leistung im Theta-Band in der Behandlungsgruppe mit Ginkgo-biloba-Spezialextrakt unter Schlafentzug ab während der Alpha-Slow-Wave-Index (ASI) in der Verum-Gruppe im Mittel anstieg. Die Ergebnisse dieser Analyse deuten darauf hin daß der Ginkgo-biloba-Spezialextrakt LI 1370 das EEG-Frequenzspektrum im Sinne einer Vigilanzsteigerung beeinflußt. Efficacy of LI 1370 Concerning the EEG of Elderly People in the Enforced Lack of Sleep Model: A randomized double-blind study with Ginkgo biloba special extract was conducted with 16 volunteers who had signs of cerebral insufficiency in order to prove the pharmacological effects concerning vigilance. Methodically an enforced lack of sleep model was used where topographic aspects of the EEG output could be shown with a special EEG mapping method. After 8-weeks' therapy the outpout of the theta band decreased in the group treated with Ginkgo biloba special extract under enforced lack of sleep whereas the alpha slow wave index (ASI) in the verum group on average increased. The results of this analysis point to the fact that the Ginkgo biloba special extract LI 1370 influences the EEG frequency spectrum within the sense of increased vigilance. ab
