Music Healing Awareness

Abstract: I have been a singer and a performer now for well over twenty years and a community music worker since 1983, when I co-founded a community music project in London. I am now based in South Devon and regularly work at the Exeter and Devon Arts Centre both as a teacher and performer. My work in terminal care began six months ago as a 'pilot project' for the outreach programme of the Arts Centre. I share music with the patients and sataff of Tidcombe Hall, a Marie Curie Hospice. I strongly believe in the healing power of music and I am exploring my role as healeter in the context of terminal care. Music is the voice of the heart and spirt, and the magic of music to transform and transcend out set ideas about ourselves is the focus of my work.
