Abstract: Discusses the Therapist Group Process Rating Scale (TGPR) and its clinical application for evaluation and treatment planning. The use of this scale is discussed in training creative arts therapy interns to observe and understand group process and the unique contribution of the arts to group psychotherapy. Selected items of the TGPR and their relevance are examined. The TGPR is a promising instrument for structured evaluation of creative arts group psychotherapy, both for treatment planning and intern training. It provides a way to observe and understand a complex process in an informed, deliberate manner. It is a tool that may facilitate communication in evaluation and treatment planning with clinicians and interns.
