Healing and medicine

Abstract: This article questions definitions of health and who is to be involved in healing. The natural science base of modern medicine often ignores many of the social and spiritual factors associated with illness. For the patient it is vital to make sense of experience and search for meaning in the face of chaos, loss, hopelessness and impending suffering.
