Abstract: Relaxation techniques are important in prevention and treatment of "Stress“induced disturbance or illness. As an example of a relaxation technique, the author describes the "Autogenes Training" of J. H. Schultz, which is easy to learn, and which produces for example good results in the treatment of psychogenic sleep disturbances. An amplification of the Autogenic Training in the Sense of Psychopädia is described and discussed regarding psychohygenic aspects.
