Abstract: 1. The present paper deals with the problem of tolerance of prosthetic materials in dental medicine. It is demonstrated that, in principle, no such material exists which, since these are foreign material, could be excluded as possible serious disturbing factor for the immune system by way of electrophysical, toxic or allergic processes.2. Tolerance criteria are discussed. Freedom from residual polymers is set up as a minimum requirement for medical plastics.3. 174 patients are described with chronic ailments related to the, superimposed disturbance factor" dental prosthetic material ailments that resist convertional therapy as well as therapy with the wide range of natural healing methods.4. Electro-acupuncture according to Voll is currently the only method capable of addressing these interconnections and of helping patients suffering from such conditions.
