Is the Stay at the Health Resort Still (or Yet Again) Modern in the Age of High Technology?

Abstract: More than half of all causes for diseases can be personally controlled and avoided through a change of life-style. Exceeding the frame of acute medicine, more and more means will have to be made available to enable people to decrease risk factors in order to be able to live with chronic diseases and processes as well as possible. Here the stay at a health resort plays an important part as help for self-help. The stay at the health resort functions as a health information seminar. Taking the patient away from everyday life, which often sustains the disease, it creates space for new experiences and changes of behaviour.
