Abstract: outgoing from the very numerous literature of the "Homoeopathic Domestic Physician" type, there is not only a decisive influence on the homoeopathic laity in 19th century, but also a problematic effect on the reputation of homoeopathy in the public. Nearly each notable homoeopathist has written one of there books, whose central intention is the cure of the laymen in special cases of illness with the helf of a homoeopathic dispensary. The initial allopathic literature of this type is addressed mainly to a rural population with the homoeopathic type of literature aims at the practical homoeopathic instruction of all ranges of society.
